Since moving to the UAE, I have been introduced the fine art of professional beard shaving - with a straight razor. Now I'm addicted to the service.

While back in Orkney Springs on summer leave, I went to the barber in Woodstock. I asked could he shave my beard with a straight razor. In his many years of experience he had done many, but not recently with a razor.

He said he could shave my beard as requested. Instead, he did something no barber here has ever done. He cut my neck.
