Islamic apartments? - Arab News

Perhaps the apartments are Islamic; perhaps it is purely a marketing device. A Muslim friend says the adjective has become so overused as to become meaningless and that we might as well speak of Islamic bellydancing. You can read between the lines of the article, I think, to see the author is suggesting we think critically about saying something is "Islamic finance" or that someone is a "Islamic fundamentalist."

Read the whole thing; the author makes a point.

One thing that bothered me about the article is that the author didn't follow up by asking the owner or supervisor what "Islamic apartments" meant on the sign. Would an English Christian be able to rent one? Would s/he be expected to participate in Islamic prayers in the apartment?

I understand what it means when someone says they are a "Christian Bookstore", but if someone advertised "Christian apartments" I'm not sure what I would expect.
