Petrol retailers and the price of petrol

Enoc :: KT:
According to Enoc, this [the large increase in the price of oil/barrel] means, that at today's oil prices, the loss per gallon is over Dh4.10 for petrol at the pumps. The business of the petrol distributing companies, says Enoc, have been suffering high financial losses for years from fuel sales. The losses are now colossal as global prices have shot up to unprecedented levels, it said in a statement, adding that it was with great regret that it had been forced to take this decision knowing it will be a burden on the motoring public.
Emarat :: GN:
Gulf News found out that two Emarat service stations located in Al Ghusais and another located on the Sharjah-Dubai road were charging motorists the increased fuel price Dh6.25 for Mogas 95 and Dh6.75 for Mogas 98 per gallon. The old prices were Dh4.75 and Dh5.25 per gallon.
. . .
An attendant at the Emarat petrol station located on Shaikh Zayed road said that the company had started increasing fuel prices a day ahead in certain areas in phases. Gulf News received several calls from motorists who had to pay the increased fuel prices. A service station employee from an Emarat station in Al Qusais told Gulf News that they were only following instructions given by the company.
