DERA winners honoured :: Khaleej Times

DUBAI — Under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, the Department of Economic Development and Zayed University honoured six winners of the Dubai Economic Research Award (DERA) at a glittering event held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

The top prize of Dh50,000 was awarded to Dr. Hugo Toledo, of the American University of Sharjah, for his research entitled 'An exposition of the problems and prospects of Emiratisation.'
Hugo Toledo is a fellow colleague in The Department of Economics, School of Business and Management. He earned his doctorate in economics at Auburn University and was a banking executive in Bolivia before joining AUS in September 2001.
