Report: UAE growth - Gulf News
QUOTE: With the country's population expected to have risen to 4.32 million last year, from 4.01 million in 2003, its per capita GDP is poised to have reached Dh72,651 ($19,795) last year, from Dh59,844 in 2003. The UAE ranks second among Arab countries after Qatar, in terms of per capita GDP.
While this level of growth is far below the 12 per cent rate recorded for 2003, some experts believe the 2004 growth rate was to be significantly ahead of the 6.6 per cent prediction if the annual oil price average exceeded $30 a barrel. UNQOUTE.
