The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced yesterday it will begin publishing the emirate's first consumer price index in April or May next year.

The federal Ministry of Economy and Planning produces a yearly CPI covering the entire UAE. The DCCI plans to begin publishing the DCCI-CPI for Dubai on a monthly basis in the next three to five years, said Mohammad Al Najjar, a researcher with the DCCI-CPI Unit.

I wonder how they handle the price of housing.
