UAE warns erratic firms over job quota issue - Arab News
Since the cabinet shuffle in November, the UAE appears to be making a number of changes in domestic policy. One of those is a more aggressive approach to private sector job quotas for nationals who currently are a tiny fraction of private sector employment - and most of those, I suspect, are passive business owners with foreign partners.
As an alternative to quotas, I commend to the national authorities the approach being taken in Bahrain. I shall have more to say on the issue of Emiratization and Saudization in future posts.
