"Men Only" Demonstration - Astute Blogger

The Astute Blogger does some number crunching by combining the observation that yesterday's demonstrate in Lebanon was very predominantly male with the claim that crowd numbered 1,000,000.

Is the result plausible? Consider (source):

1. The population of Lebanon is 3,777,218 (July 2004 est.)

2. Sex ratio: 0.94 male(s)/female (2004 est.)

UPDATE: Watching CNN just now (9 Mar) from these demonstrations, they one scene of all women before switching to the large crowd shot (which appears all male). This suggestion is that women are part of the pro-Syrian demonstrations (in small percentage) and are segregated from the larger demonstration. Note, too, the hijab serves the very purpose is it meant to serve, modesty.
