Meanwhile those of us living east of downtown Sharjah find it easier to go to Dubai to shop rather than fight the traffic into Sharjah. Distance-wise it's longer, but time-wise much shorter. Especially if you go off road, crossing the Sharjah-Dubai border east of the Dubai land fill.
