Meanwhile, the underwater restaurant planned in Dubai has been quietly shelved. (See Sleepin' with the Fishes.) Nothing to see for two reasons: too clouded with sand and too few fish to make it interesting even if you could see. Both are naturally occuring features of the Gulf. But they are compounded by the massive land creation projects in Dubai -- The Palms and The World. Dubai where anything is possible, even the creation of beach front property -- as long as you are willing to pay the opportunity costs.
