My question of the day: Why isn't this Japanese authorized inspection center located in Japan rather than the UAE?
Dubai is an international trading hub in used cars, especially those from Japan. Besides the strong demand for used cars in Africa, the demand for used cars in Japan is low. Used car inspections in Japan are so rigorous that it's cheaper to trade in for a new car every three years rather meet the inspection conditions. (We can conjecture where these regulations come from, and I think we'd be right.)DUBAI - Japan Auto Appraisal Institute (JAAI), a quality inspection agency authorised by the Government of Japan, yesterday announced the setting up of an inspection centre in Dubai as a joint venture with Cars Trade, part of the ETA Group, and MCTME, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.
Responding to the growing demand from Africa for used vehicles, JAAI has been studying the establishment of this facility in Dubai for inspecting and appraising used vehicles exported overseas.

Why is CARS a division of ETA allowed to inspect the cars as there is the government agency in the Emirate known as Tasjeel which has a good reputation of inspecting cars for the local market can also inspect the export vehicle market.Cars staff are unproffessional and incompetant in their inspection
Cars company equipment are outdated and staff are unqualified, hence it is high time that JAAI inspection is given to emirates road transport agency(RTA) to inspect vehicles for export too.
