US stamp of quality on university education school- Gulf News

Abu Dhabi: A prestigious US educational authority has given its seal of approval to UAE University's Faculty of Education. This is a first for a non-American institution, an official said.
I'm surprised, but pleased to read that they merited US accreditation, and this makes me more optimistic about improvement in primary and secondary public education. The business school at UAE University is AACSB accredited. The American University of Sharjah (UAE) has US accreditation from Middle States. A peculiar feature of accreditation in the UAE is that federal institutions like UAEU are exempt from UAE accreditation, but private institutions are.

As many readers in the US will know, there is no national governmental accreditation of colleges and universities in the US. Rather, the system of accreditation is regional and non-governmental.
